Good marketing/advertising forums - That depends on what type of marketing/advertising you are interested in. Also, if your goal is more specific then you may want to search online for the best books on those topics. After all, most good knowledge comes from similar sources (books). Most of the people who are successful on forums can attribute their success to their mentors (books).
When you decide which type of marketing/advertising forum you want to join try the following search engines:

The reason you want to stick with specific searches is because when you go on forums, right away 99% of the people commenting don’t practice what they preach or are broke. You don’t want to get your advice from people ‘broker’ than you are.
Paid forums can be slightly better as they have paying members who are either slightly less broke or balling. You can connect with such members by other means e.g. Skype and organize private mastermind groups.
The fastest way from point A to point B is by surrounding yourself with others who have already been through what you are going through and have the answers. Just listen and follow instructions. Don’t ask questions on a forum or group that you can get the answer to with a quick Google search. Seriously don’t do it. Nobody owes you anything. All of the answers are out there for those willing to find it. At the same time, have an open mind and listen to those who are already successful (but still striving to become better).
There are some Facebook groups online (can be hard to find) but there are many people giving out information on them.
Avoid subscribing to hundreds of email lists. The vast majority of lists are not worth subscribing to as they contain little to no value and steal your attention/time.
